If you don't know who I am... Well I'm English, 5ft2, Blood Group O, originally from the South Coast but steadily moving further North... I'm a mature student, trying to follow my dream of studying Japanese at a university level. I want to work in translation someday, hopefully in the cultural sector. It's a rocky road, but I'm doing my best to stay positive.

I have strong opinions, but I'm very non-confrontational. I try not to rant and whinge too much because that gets fucking tedious (to write about, and to read). Some things, however, do get under my skin and you may find rants about the following topics contained herein: Homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny, organised religion, child abuse, discrimination against the disabled and man's inhumanity to man in general.

Let's get one thing straight... I am a nice person. Bitchiness doesn't look good on me. If you respect that we'll get on fine, capisc? Even if you and I disagree on some things, it doesn't mean we can't get on. I have been variously labelled as "goth" "loser" and "unhealthily obsessed with Japanese people."

Things that make me happy include comic books, eyeliner, and synthpop. I don't smoke, I like to drink, and I don't use nearly enough drugs. My tipple of choice is the Victorian Mojito when at a bar, or absinthe at home.
